A 160ft crane bungee jump is the most popular type of jump in the UK, and the ideal way to get your heart racing whilst fundraising for the charity of your choice.
Bungee jumping requires no previous experience or training course whatsoever. Once you arrive on the bungee site you'll be checked in, weighed and required to complete some paperwork. You'll be given a quick brief and you'll have a chance to ask any niggling questions (when I jump off how do I make myself fall? d'oh! or maybe not...). You're also given the option to request a DVD and photos of your bungee as well as buy any souvenir merchandise you fancy sporting afterwards.
After being kitted up some sturdy ankle and waist harnesses you'll then be called over to the cage, lowered down by the huge crane, waiting for you to board. The bungee cord is connected to your harness just before you hop on and then there's a short ride to 160ft whilst having a brief chat with your highly experienced jump master.
At the top you get to enjoy a birds eye view of the ground below - you're still able to see your friends and family below (yes - you can [nervously] wave to them if you wish). Your jump master will open the cage door and then after a short pause you'll hear the words... 3, 2, 1 Bungee!! You guessed it, that's your cue to take a deep breath and jump! It's usually custom to spread your arms wide and take a nice big leap forward but if you fancy flapping your arms like a bird or doing something equally ridiculous then you're more than welcome.
You'll reach 60mph in under 2 seconds which makes the actual jump pass very quickly but the rush of adrenaline will stay with you for weeks. As you reach the end of your bungee cord you'll be flung skywards ready for round 2 with gravity. After bobbing up and down for about 20 seconds you'll then be lowered head first onto a nice soft mat on the ground. Welcome to the world of bungee!
