Document Environmental Policy

Version 1.0.0 - Last Updated 1st March 2010

This page tells you the how we manage our effect on the environment.

We have teamed up with Clear to develop a robust and sustainable environmental policy. Following an independent audit covering all aspects of the day-to-day running of Choose a Challenge, as well as every one of our challenges, we are proud to have achieved QAS (Quality Assurance Scheme) Certification as a Carbon Neutral Company.

After adopting a strict policy to "Reuse, Reduce and Recycle" we then went one step further by completely offsetting all remaining emissions. Using the most accurate carbon calculators available, based on the most up-to-date understanding of carbon dioxide emissions possible and matching the factors used by the UK Government and Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC), the carbon footprint of Choose a Challenge was precisely calculated.

Projects include the creation of a Biomass Electricity Plant and a Hydro Plant in Brazil, a renewable energy Geothermal plant in Nicaragua and Bagasse Cogeneration in Ecuador.
