Foreign Currency Payments

Last updated on 7th December 2010

All payments made on our website are processed in accordance with our Payment Policy, but this page is tasked with providing some jargon free general information regarding non-sterling payments.

United States of America

We are a registered company in England and Wales (company number 06933942 and VAT number 983 8602 77), which means that all of the services which we provide from our UK offices are subject to VAT (our “place of supply” is the UK). So, even if you live in the USA and you're taking part in one of our challenges in the USA, VAT must be included in the price you pay. If you require a VAT invoice then please contact us.

We advertise our challenges for a fixed price per person in US dollars. This amount must be converted to sterling, at the daily market rate, in order for the UK tax man to calculate his fair share. We bear all of the exchange rate risk associated with processing payments in this manner to keep things simple. That means the sterling amount shown on your invoice will fluctuate with daily exchange rate movements, and so it will be different from the sterling amount shown on other invoices - this is perfectly fine as the US dollar amount will remain the same.
