What is Jailbreak
Jailbreak is an extreme charity hitchhike. You'll have just 36 hours to get as far away from campus as possible. The event will take place during the weekend of Saturday 14th November - Sunday 15th November. Exact times are between 8am on the Saturday and 8pm on the Sunday. The event will start from Durham prison.

We ask that you all raise a minimum of £75 per person in sponsorship from friends, family, etc. Of course though, the more money you raise, the better! You are able to fundraise for any UK charity registered with JustGiving.
On the day you will receive a Jailbreak T-shirt and official letter stating the validity of the event. You'll also receive a list of instructions and guidelines that aim to ensure your safety and enjoyment. No participant will be allowed to compete until they've signed to say they've read these instructions.
All participants must be above the age of 18 and in groups of 2-3. For safety reasons, we insist that you stay together throughout the entire challenge.
You will need
- A valid passport;
- A mobile phone with international roaming facilities, plenty of credit and full battery;
- A mobile phone charger;
- A debit/credit card which can be used abroad (preferably Visa or Mastercard);
- An EHIC card (for EU students only);
- Warm clothes.
Cheating
We emphasise that the primary goal is to raise money for charity: don't try to cheat to get furthest! You are only cheating yourselves and the other teams, and cheating probably won't work anyway.
