What is Trent Uni Skydive?
Trent Uni Skydive is a charity skydiving event, run by Nottingham Trent RAG. We're looking for a bunch of Nottingham Trent University students, staff and graduates, all eager to raise a huge pile of money for charity.
A skydive, training, transport,
Personal Accident insurance
and BPA
Third Party insurance and carbon offsetting are all provided. Most importantly, you can get it all for FREE if you raise just £380.00 for charity
Fundraising and Payments
The chosen charities for Trent Uni Skydive are Nottingham Trent RAG and Victim Support.
There are two ways to go about covering the cost of your skydive, which we call Self Funded and Sponsorship Funded. You can find out more about them here.
Constraints
Some medical conditions are considered prohibitive (without a doctor's approval), including epilepsy, fits, severe head injuries, recurrent blackouts or giddiness, disease of the brain or nervous system, high blood pressure, heart or lung disease, recurrent weakness or dislocation of any limb, diabetes, mental illness, drug or alcohol addiction. For full details of problematic medical conditions, review this article.
The minimum age to skydive is 16, with no upper age limit, although number of conditions are in place. Under 18s will require the consent of their parent or guardian and over 40s require their doctor's approval.
Weather
Unfortunately, Skydiving is a weather dependant sport. We always do our best to get everyone jumped on the day, however, it is important to be aware of weather restrictions.
If for any reason you don't get to jump during the event, your jump will remain on account for one year after the event date, so you've got plenty of time to make it happen!
Prohibitive weather includes strong or gusting wind, rain, hail, fog and low cloud. If a weather hold is implemented, we'll stay grounded for as long is reasonable to expect the weather to clear. Very occasionally, the weather has proved problematic enough to stop the majority of participants jumping - in these cases, we will arrange a new date for the event to recommence. In these cases, further transportation will be at an additional cost.
Clothing
We recommend wearing comfortable, warm and loose fitting clothing, incorporating multiple layers to provide warmth. Shoes should be laced, flat soled and comfortable e.g. trainers. A jumpsuit, goggles, gloves and a helmet will all be provided. Glasses or contact lenses can be worn underneath the provided goggles.
Spectators
Spectators are very welcome at drop zone, so feel free to invite friends and family. Please make them aware of the Weather constraints above, and prepare them for a bit of a wait, as we cannot provide estimates on jump time (due to potential weather issues).
