bonjour april!

I hope you've all had/are having a fantastic Easter Break. We've, as always, had a busy time in the office this month, and I'm excited to share with you all some exciting updates from the team.

On Monday we will be launching our exciting Internship opportunities! Here's a reminder of the roles:

Office Interns
We will be hiring 2 interns for 6 weeks in our London Office from 25th June to 3rd August. It'll give you a great insight into what we get up to day to day, and a great opportunity to enhance your skills in organisation, project management, marketing and more.

In-country Operatives
We will be basing 5 interns in Tanzania, Nepal & Peru to assist in looking after our participants in-country. The internship will last around 3-4 weeks in August-September (dependent on the challenge).

Three Peaks Reps
Reps will meet our teams at the start of their challenge, be the first port-of-call for our participants and be on-hand for us to serve up snacks for the returning challengers from their trek.

Marathon Reps
For our Bilbao Night Marathon and Budapest Marathon in October, we are looking for a couple of reps to come out with us to help us staff the weekend.

Brand Ambassadors
For the 2018/19 year, we are hoping to have some fab Brand Ambassadors on board to help us promote our challenges to more students by attending Freshers Fairs and presenting some Information Meetings at various campuses across the UK.

We're off to Prague soon! We will be heading out to Prague on 4th May with our teams running in aid of Meningitis Research Foundation. It's due to be sunny, so if you're heading out with us make sure you're coming out with plenty of sun cream and a hat! If your team have any last minute questions, please ask them to get in touch with us in the office by phone call or email and we will be sure to answer anything that comes through. It'll be Naomi & me heading out to Prague, and we'll be posting your meeting times and arrival information in your groups soon so keep your eye out.

If you're a Budapest or Bilbao leader, and still in the early stages of the marathon, make sure you keep track of our runners on our social media and check out our Marathon Leaderboard in May. It may help to inspire you to get started with your own training, or give you a new target to aim for. You should have already had, or have your Training Workshop planned very soon. Remember, most training plans start roughly around 4 months before the marathon date, so by May you and your team are going to want to have a couple of miles under your belt to start upping the distance.

Don't forget, as well as your training workshop, we are on hand to answer any questions on training you may have. You can also access our training plans, blogs and tips on our Running Hub here

A couple of updates from our end:

Sam & I ran the PARIS MARATHON! It was a tough challenge, as with every marathon and this one was made even harder by the Paris heat. But we did it, and I think Sam has even caught the running bug now too - so I'm sure they'll be plenty more of our #NoughtToMarathon blogs in the near future.

We've got some great new Challenge Leaders on board for the next academic year, and we are looking for some Leader Mentors to help introduce them to the concept of leading (and to give them some advice and top tips for the year). It'll be a great thing to pop on your CV and we can endorse you for it on Linkedin too! So if you're keen, please get in touch with me and I will tell you more about the role.

As well as counting down to Prague Marathon in May, we are also starting to countdown to our first trek departure of 2018 which is now just 2 months away! We are so excited to launch our trekking season and start up our photo, blog and video competition once again. It's so great seeing all the entries, and we hope you all encourage your team to take part to be in with the chance of winning.

Finally, last but not least: Our Challenge Leader of the Month!

Emi Dowse from Plymouth RAG is our Challenge Leader of the month! Emi is great and pro-active supporting her Machu Picchu team alongside her co-team leader. But Emi is also our Challenge Leader of the Month as she did something super brave in the last month: she shaved her head for charity!

Emi, thanks so much for being a great leader and keep up the good work with getting stuck in with your fundraising and trip preparation. Your efforts, I'm sure, are inspiring your team to keep going too!
