January Newsletter

Happy New Year! The Choose a Challenge team wishes all of you lovely leaders a happy and successful 2019. This month’s newsletter will brush over some company changes heading into the new year, as well as a projection of the upcoming recruitment season!

CELEBRATING YOU

CHALLENGE LEADER OF THE MONTH

JACK GALLOWAY - UNIVERSITY OF HUDDERSFIELD (BILBAO NIGHT MARATHON)

A new and keen independent leader, Jack has absolutely smashed through his short time as a challenge leader so far. After signing up and being accepted on the ILM Programme, he has already almost completed the majority of components on offer - well above and beyond what is expected! But not only this, Jack has already roped on four sign-ups for the Bilbao Marathon at Huddersfield - with the information meeting still over two weeks away. Keep up the good work Jack!

CHALLENGE LEADER(S) OF THE YEAR (?!)

A new and exciting award! For the first year ever we’ll be offering an award for the most dedicated and successful challenge leader throughout the entire year. We love rewarding you guys for your dedication to your challenges and incredible causes, and we think this is the perfect award to sum up your efforts. We might even have a trophy!

RECRUITMENT

THE STORY SO FAR

Last week saw our first information evening of the year up in Warwick, promoting the Budapest Marathon! Following, this week saw our first Three Peaks presentation of the year at UCL - presented by the lovely brand ambassador Scott (pictured left). Both events had a good amount of interest, and will no doubt pull in some budding students for adventures this summer.

COMING UP…

Despite the above, we are very much in the calm before the storm period of recruitment season, with only a plethora of travel and promo to come. The rest of January will see over 15 information meetings, with just under this number to follow throughout February - a very busy next few weeks! We’re buzzing to see the success of our brand new independent leaders, tackling head-on their Three Peaks and marathon events. Not only this, but look out for events on RAG campuses, where the experienced RAGies will surely be hoping to repeat success with their smaller, more affordable challenge events.

NOTE: Please ensure your room bookings are submitted by the end of next week (25/01) to ensure your promotional materials arrive in sufficient time for your meeting!

UPDATES FROM THE TEAM

NEW YEAR, NEW OFFICE

We have moved! We’ve sadly departed our Vox Studios Workspace in Vauxhall and have entered into a new era in Southwark. The new location is super central, a 5 minute walk from King’s Guy’s Campus, the Shard, Borough Market, and much more. If you’re local, pop by and say hello!

SHIFTED ROLES

You may have noticed that only Naomi and Felix have been running account management from our end. This is due to the fact that Molly, Lucy, and Sam are no longer managing accounts through recruitment and beyond. Hence, any of your questions and queries should be directed accordingly.

ILM PROGRAMME

The lucky leaders enrolled onto the ILM Programme have been making good progress in completing their online components, with some (including CLotM Jack Galloway) completing well above and beyond what is expected.

We’re feeling super confident about the upcoming recruitment season. With the right promotion and the right presentations, we can get a cracking number of people signed-up to some incredible adventures this summer. Let’s do this!
