February has been a month of learning and growing for the team and our partners, we've been hard at work planning the next cycle of recruitment, not to mention the high season just around the corner! With the new year recruitment season now drawing to a close, this newsletter delves into a summary of the past month on the road, as well as a few important (and surprising) updates from the office.

CHALLENGE LEADER(S) OF THE MONTH

ABI MORRIS &
KATIE HENDERSON

THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE (UNIVERSITY OF EXETER)

The team down at Exeter have had a phenomenal couple of weeks bringing in 12 participants to their Three Peaks challenge so far. They've been on-the-ball from the get-go with their promo and, despite some flyering hiccups, managed to fill both information meeting rooms! Abi and Katie got straight on the follow-up after the meetings and have certainly reaped the rewards. Well done team! πŸ’ͺ

LEADER WORKSHOPS

We are currently hard at work integrating the second and final overseas trekking workshop (kit packing) into the pre-departure briefing - watch this space! As you'll know, we're hoping to have you guys present the workshops alongside us when we travel over to present the pre-departure briefing.

For you budding marathon leaders, remember to present your Couch to 5km workshop in the next couple of weeks; you can find it on the Challenge Leader Forum. If you don't manage to, we'll be posting them in your groups at some point throughout March.

RECRUITMENT

THE CLOSING WEEKS...
It seems like just yesterday that 2019 recruitment was just starting, and the finish line is already in sight! The end of January saw a super busy week with Exeter and Bangor Three Peaks being the stand-out away days. Moving into February four information meetings in Huddersfield over two weeks formed a healthy Bilbao and Three Peaks team, headed by two of our super independent leaders representing the campus.

Looking ahead, Loughborough Amsterdam and Karnival Three Peaks are looking promising! Let's hope for two massive days out and two teams we can be proud of. β˜ΊοΈ

...AND BEYOND
PRE-DEPARTURE BRIEFINGS
Once recruitment is done and dusted, we'll be planning visits to your campuses to present our pre-departure briefings for overseas treks. We're currently working at how these briefings will work, and which of you will be helping us present them alongside your kit-packing workshops. Watch this space!

2019/2020 PLANNING
As committee elections loom, we're keen to crack on with planning our 2019/20 departures as soon as possible! To this end, please inform us as soon as possible of next year's committee members responsible for challenges. We'd love to hear from you.

UPDATES FROM THE TEAM

STAFF DEPARTURE πŸ˜’
It is with great sadness that we are announcing the departure of Naomi, our Business Development Coordinator who's been with us for 18 months. Those who've worked with Naomi know that she's brings an incredible energy to everything she does, and she'll most certainly be missed. We want to take this opportunity to wish Naomi the best of luck for her travels away and eventual future endeavours!

STASH. SO MUCH STASH.
We still have tonnes and tonnes of mis-printed lonely jumpers lying around ready to be worn by a respectable owner. If you don't yet have a jumper, or know a pal who'd like one, give us a shout and we'd be more than happy to send one over!

LEADER RESOURCES
We've improved the Challenge Leader Resources section of our website so it no longer directly links to our Google Drive. You can now access all the files you're looking for, challenge by challenge, in a much easier format. Take a look here

We're so proud of all of you guys for another successful recruitment season! We're looking forward to visiting your campuses to check up on the teams and get cracking with pre-departure preparations. The countdown to your challenges begins! πŸŽ‰
