Introducing our 2019 partners: Mind
Over the next 2 weeks, we're going to be introducing our charity partners for 2019! You'll be able to fundraise for any of these charities if you're taking part one of our 2019 trekking or marathon challenges.
We're super excited to announce that we will be partnering with Mind for the first time in 2019! Mind are one of the leading mental health charities in the UK, and provide a huge wealth of resources and support to those struggling with their mental health.
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. Mind believe no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. They'll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and improve understanding.
In 2016, someone in England and Wales took their own life every 2 hours. This means that the work of Mind is vital to supporting those suffering across the country.
Mind's helplines answered 76,323 queries, and their Information Standards Board-approved information was accessed 10.8 million times this year.
Meet your charity rep!
Supporting our student fundraisers for Mind in 2019 will be Alex Bordoli, supported by the wider Community Fundraising team.
Alex was on committee at Exeter RAG, before working down at UPSU in Plymouth. Since then, she has also worked for East African Playgrounds, Breast Cancer Now and Cancer Research UK!
We're really excited to have Mind on board as a charity partner, and we hope you'll consider supporting them by joining a challenge in 2019!
